Mapping notes

Random, casual observations while staring at a large map of the world on my office wall and thinking about things with my feet up on my desk:

State-run CBC’s “Newsworld” channel’s Sandra Abma (apparently either the new “On the Scene” segment gal or filling in for the vacationing “On the Scene” segment gal):  First, it’s a story on something being reported by the American-style TMZ.com, which she pronounces American-style:  TMZ rather than TMZed.  I’ll bet she also says Lay-Z-Boy rather than Lay-Zed-Boy.

Next story from “On the Scene”: another non-story, this one about a made-for-TV movie being shot in Toronto called “Guns”.  Actor interviewed.  First words out of his mouth: “We’ve got to send out the message that…” [then of course insert liberal-speak here…].  Because of course we can’t get enough “messages” slipped into movies and TV shows from the liberals these days.

So of course I look “Guns” up, trying to find the various Canadian state-funding symbols including the liberals’ ubiquitous liberals spending your cash indoctrinating you logo, and I find an article at CTV.ca (even though the movie is a CBC project.  It’s another cross-promotion!)  Included in the article: these gratuitously off-topic anti-rich-folks class-war editorial words from the apparently impoverished reporter about a star of the movie who is Canadian:  “For her 22nd birthday, her ‘House of Wax’ co-star Paris Hilton gave her and [sic] autographed copy of her autobiography and a bottle of her perfume as a gift. No wonder the rich stay rich. They’re cheap.”

Genius.

Next story;  it’s about “Beraaackk Obaaaama” which she pronounces using a sheep-like aaaa sound.  Like slap. Story:  He appeared on John Stewart’s anti-conservative liberal hour of love.  That’s all. The banner across the bottom of the CBC screen informed us:  “Obama on Daily Show”.  It’s “On the scene”!  (Of course, sadly for the state-run network, the Daily Show starring John Stewart is “On the CTV network’s Scene”… so that’s fun, in a cross-promotional liberalvision kind of way.

(No mention, by the way, of the fact several Republican candidates have also bravely appeared on that show, but yes I know, they’re Republicans!;  nor that Barack Hussein Obama thought the leader of our country was President Stephen Harper, and how, by their own scoring system, that makes him a “total moron”.  So story coverage is still rather selective even with this new “On the Scene” gal.

Rather unrelated but still on the state-run media “scene”:  “news” anchor Nancy (“very interesting!”) Wilson observes in a later segment that Quebec papers and commentators are saying that the recent deaths of soldiers who happen to be from Quebec is “The Price of War”.

Price of war?

No, I think to myself —it’s the price of peace.  The cost of freedom.  Idiots.

Nancy Wilson later interviews a “political scientist” regarding Afghanistan and she calls it “George Bush’s war on terror”.

She ends the piece with this—perhaps a Freudian slip, perhaps not:

“OK well… we’ll continue to see how public opinion is shaped…”

Yeah, she’s right.

State-run CBC teases upcoming enviro special portending the end of the world

“THE TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING/CAN WE SAVE PLANET EARTH?”

And it’s all in capital letters.  So, holy moly.  I, for one, am suitably and obediently freaked-out.  (If I wasn’t, I’d be freaked-out about being sued or arrested, or at least mocked by the tolerant “progressives”.)

That’s what they’re going with as a title at the CBC (not “Holy Moly”, but rather “THE TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING/CAN WE SAVE PLANET EARTH?”).  The CBC?  They’re all about the “truth”.  They’re the truther channel!  (Fox News Channel, as we already know, is about lying: for Bush, neo-cons, and of course damn Christians!).  Note that in actual fact, the documentary was named “Can We Save Planet Earth?” by its BBC producers. The CBC added “THE TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING” in front of it.  Because it’s about the truth as I said.

We also know this is all truth because it’s being broadcast on the CBC Newsworld channel.  And also, nothing says “truth” (to a liberal) like the show that is presenting the documentary, “The Passionate Eye”.  If they’re “passionate”, it’s true!  For liberals, it’s all about the feelings.  And the CBC is state-run—and by golly the government knows better than us on every matter.  Climate and child-rearing and trans fats and everything!  It’s a socialist fact!

“The Passionate Eye” previously broadcast a film called “Bush’s Climate of Fear”.  Never mind that.  This is REAL climate fear!  Sure it’s a little confusing when you’re talking “truth” all the time!  The CBC’s “Fifth Estate” truth program recently broadcast an episode they called “THE LIES THAT LED TO WAR”, the banner graphic of which features a picture of Bush and Cheney.  No sign of Saddam anywhere.

Where’s Saddam?
image
(And note the old cowboy movie font used in the title?
‘Cause Bush—he’s a cowboy!)

The answer to their scary freak-out question (“CAN WE SAVE PLANET EARTH?”) is a very qualified “yes”, thank God (or you know, whateva).  But only if the damn “deniers”! stop denying the environut religion’s, well, religion.

The show is centered around the sage advice of the noted climate scientist Sir David Attenborough.  OK fine he’s not a climate scientist per se—he’s an animal and “naturalist” scientist and one heck of a fancy guy.  But whatever.  He thinks humans are to blame.  More specifically, a famous quote:  “I don’t think whole populations are villainous, but Americans are just extraordinarily unaware of all kinds of things.”  In other words: he’s perfect CBC material.

How come the CBC doesn’t do a special called “THE TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING/WE’VE BEEN BS-ing YOU!”, and feature our Steve Milloy, who is also a known scientist and has studied this thing to death, and has come to largely that conclusion, Attenborough’s truth about those stupid ignorant Americans aside?

Because they don’t want to.  That’s why.  (Plus, his column is carried both here at PTBC, a “neo-con” site, and at Fox News Channel’s web site, so, duh, it’s part of the whole Bush / lie industrial complex and right-wing lie infrastructure.

For those of you keeping score at home:  This is “man-made global warming” freak-out special number 5,833,961 from the state-run liberal-leftist truthers at the CBC.  Nothing upcoming from the state-run CBC that advances the interests and values of what they might call “deniers”, “homophobes”,  “Neanderthals”, “neo-cons”, “proponents of Bush’s so-called war on terror”, “anti-choicers”, nor “annoying common sense/sane people from the not ‘progressive’ set”.

MRC: “two of these things are not like the other.” In another sense, it’s a culture war.

Several good reads at the great Media Research Center recently, as usual.  Among them:

CNN’s ‘God’s Warriors’ Equates Christian Activists with Taliban?
CNN’s Tuesday-Thursday mini-series, “God’s Warriors,” hosted by Christiane Amanpour, looks like it will play the old liberal game of moral equivalence. Amanpour reportedly compares Christian chastity advocates to the Taliban. Even the promos for the mini-series which have been running on CNN for the past few weeks demonstrate the probable “game plan” that Amanpour and CNN have in mind, grouping together pro-life Christian college students protesting in front of the Supreme Court, Jewish settlers on the West Bank, and Islamic radicals. To paraphrase an old children’s jingle, “two of these things are not like the other.”

Well that’s on a private cable network created by a liberal and one which is well-known to be liberal-appeasing (even if they pretend otherwise).

Unfortunately it reminds me of the state-run CBC in Canada, and its similarly liberal-left “moral-equivalence-enhanced” work on morals, values, and Christianity in general here in Canada.

Like most sane people who have an ounce or more of common sense and intelligence, I have a feeling when watching that state-run CBC media in Canada, that underlying so much of what they do and say—their programing in general—is their quest to help destroy our traditions and moral bases, including our nations’ foundational adherence to Christian values, and ultimately, help try to destroy Christianity in general because it so gets in their way.  It (Christianity, morals, traditions, and so on) makes them look or feel bad.  Lately, they have been running three things:

One of those infamous CBC “Passionate Eye” series shows—a feature called Naked on the Inside, (gee, sorry, my timing is off but it was on yesterday—you missed it) which they advertised all day yesterday on CBC Newsworld, by showing an attractive woman, from the head down to just north of nipplodia, seductively taking her shirt off and standing there for the viewer.  Presumably, if you watch the show, you’ll get to see her naked shloombabas.  Even though it’s called “Naked on the Inside”.  I didn’t watch the great show last night, but wouldn’t put it past them to show her naked, as they’ve certainly presented far more depraved material before.  And of course it’s de rigueur to appeal to the sexual horn-doginess of what they obviously perceive to be their horny liberal audience, to use suggestive, sexualized pictures—whether it’s a true representation of their show or not—in order to attract and build their audience, in direct competition with citizens who own their own private networks.  This is what mindless people with no ideas do when they have no solid material to boast about.  Gratuitous T & A to grab audiences away from other citizen-owned networks.

The other one yesterday advertised their (previously blogged about) 6-part sex ‘n orgasm series produced by their apparently sex-obsessed feminist CBC producer, about women having sex and their orgasms and so on. On the CBC.  State-run.  Providing news, entertainment, and documentary information Canadians apparently need.

Also yesterday, in their “Newsworld” “On the Scene” segment, they kept going on about the full-moon-exposed enviro moonbats in Switzerland who took all their clothes off (as liberals are wont to do so very often—Scott Brison | Bare-Ass Bob Rae | Svend Robinson) in order to protest something or bring attention to themselves and the moral importance of being buck naked, in addition to having wild monkey sex.  The CBC’s entertainment reporter showed Canadians the full-frontal pictures of the naked environuts—on the national state-run “Newsworld” channel—in order to “inform” you, I guess.  Actual pictures are the only way when you have no actual mind per se

But don’t worry, these secular-progressives aren’t “warriors” advancing their religion of atheism or their church of liberalism.  They’re “progressives”, and this is good for you. It’s the CBC.  You pay for it.  Because they know what you need.  It’s the government!  They know better than you do.  And it’s this.

(And this isn’t a “so-called” war, either.)

EXTRA
As if on cue, as I completed this blog entry, an ad appeared for CBC’s “Fifth Estate” program for this Friday.  It’s a scary!, scary! warning about those damn Christians!.  They include clips of some damn Christians! carrying stacks of big buckets that they use for cash that, if I understand correctly, they rip off from suckered damn Christians! each Sunday.  That’s how stupid these people are, see?!

image  image

The CBC program producers slickly chose to focus on a rather questionable, extreme, and notorious example of a damn Christian! televangelist who is very popular in some fringe quarters of Christianity.  This is a little like exemplifying Cindy Sheahan or Rosie O’Donnell as the very epitome of the “progressive” movement today.  (In this case, I wonder how they’ll fit the words “Islamist terrorists”, “fundamentalist Christians”, “conservative-right”, and “Christian-right” in!)

While you’re at the Fifth Estate web page on the multi-gazillion-dollar CBC web site, don’t miss the link to a previous episode called “THE LIES THAT LED TO WAR”, the attached graphic of which features a picture of Bush and Cheney!

Markets up: state-run CBC’s stock “Plunge-o-Meter” suddenly vanishes

Yesterday as markets fell:

CBC’s TSX Plunge-o-Meter makes its triumphant debut! (Read all about it!)
image

Today, as markets rose:

CBC’s Plunge-o-Meter takes its sad, sad departure!
(A “Rise-o-Meter”?  Why that ain’t liberal!)
image

Yesterday as markets fell:

It was a “Market Meltdown!”  A meltdown I tells ya!
image

Today, as market rose:

Well today it’s a, um, well by gum it’s a “Financial Market”!
image

As we know, and as I reported yesterday and over the past several years, they totally and absolutely forgot to make an issue out of the stock markets making huge, historic, record-breaking gains and highs over the recent past.  No “Rise-o-Meter”, no no no.

Latent Note:
They later toyed with all manner of descriptions in their banners and graphics:  “jittery market”, “markets rally”, and “see? Capitalism sucks!” (oh sorry that last one is just what they must have been thinking).

Here comes the agenda-driven state-run CBC’s free left-wing cause PROMOTION EXPRESS service!

I mentioned environmental genius Leonardo DiCaprio’s new “factual” “documentary” called The 11th Hour (it’s so scary, see?!) about the “man-made global warming” in my J-Lines the other day. The media down south has already elevated Leo as “a smart guy” (a co-host of a CBS News show), despite his unmentioned high-school droppy-outiness.

But naturally the agenda-driving leftists at the state-run CBC are way ahead of me with their free promotion express services that are used whenever a good left-wing cause needs free promotion.  They’re all over the upcoming debut of the “factual” “documentary”.

Here’s some still-captured screen shots from CBC “News”world today, teasing the audience about their “news” coverage about the opening of the “factual” “documentary”:

When the “review” finally came up, the “expert” “reviewer” was a guy from NOW Magazine—the magazine that I mentioned just yesterday (when they used another “expert” from them to educate us on another “fact”) which was founded by members of the Socialist League of Canada (see this blog entry).  They, of course, do not inform us of that factoid.  It’s the CBC.  It’s what they do. And how they do it.

“It’s VERY GOOD!”, the “totally objective expert” began.  Leo is “quite poetic!”,  he gushed on.  The “news” anchor, Sarika Sehgal, tossed leading puffball questions to him over and over and over, in her effort which was apparently designed to enable him—nay, to encourage him—to lecture Canadians about the “man-made global warming”, rather than actually review the movie, which they pretended was the whole point here.  But suffice it to say that the movie, as I said in my J-Lines, is PERFECT, and Canadians MUST see it.  It’s our moral duty, by golly!  I think I got that right.

So obviously it’s over to Fox News Channel now, for actual news and information, and fairness and balance, where they report, and let me decide.  A concept totally foreign to Canadians who don’t subscribe to FNC.

P.S.
They (the state-run CBC) have never promoted my web site despite its debut years ago.  Sure they’ve threatened to sue me and warn that “they’ll be watching my web site”, and what not, but no, no promotion so far.

Market rises every day, breaking records: media ignores it; It falls?: media all over it

I’ve said it so often—during the historic rise of the stock markets both here and in the U.S.—that by now it’s like a broken record.

All the way up, the liberals’ media totally ignored it.  Pretended it wasn’t happening.  The stock markets went up by thousands of points since the Clinton era plunge despite the terrorist attacks and the global war on terror and socialist moonbats.

Lately, and today, it’s down some, and the state-run socialist CBC is all over it (as if socialists have the authority to explain free markets to Canadians).  Suddenly they have a bunch of stories on the stock market, even adding a cute little stock plunge-o-meter in the upper right of their Newsworld screen during all their stories.

See the CBC stock market plunge-o-meter making its triumphant debut.
(I wonder if there’s cheers going on at the state’s CBC “news” rooms!)

Here’s the screen they seemed to hate showing you
when the market was rising to historic highs…

Here’s the state-run socialist network’s free-market
business guru (no relation to Stephane (“the Green Guru”) Dion).

The next story was on Elvis Presley.

Here are just some of my recent related blog entries:

CBC should look behind its back

New Dow high again; again liberal media ignores it—pretends it’s not happening

DOW cracks 13,000. Liberal media pretends it’s not happening.

Liberal media on stock market breaking records—“couldn’t this be bad, then?”

State-run CBC finally covers record stock market—after it drops (right on cue)

Agenda-driven liberal media continues to ignore record-smashing TSE and DOW

Yet another new stock market record; liberal media chooses to mostly ignore it

Toronto stocks in record territory; liberal media asleep

Stock market finally dips; CBC all over it suddenly

Hands up: Who knew the Dow, S&P 500, and TSX all reached record highs again yesterday?

State-run CBC in new sex series…

…because as I keep telling you, so much about liberalism revolves around the orgasm.

I’ve previously reported on the state-run CBC’s obsession with sex, lewdness, promiscuity, and of course their more general promotion of gay “marriage” and the gay lifestyle as healthy modern Canadian values in their world view.

Previous blog entries – (some a tad surprising):
Link 1 | Especially Link 2 | Link 3Link 4

Now they appear to be set to expose all there is to expose about sex from a feminist woman’s perspective.  Apparently a sex-starved horny woman’s perspective.  Because that’s the kind of information that we’re lacking from those darn private stations these days.  Yes, folks, that’s what the state deems important for Canadians to be taught. This is why we need to spend in excess of one BILLION dollars per year of taxpayer cash on the state-run media through which the state competes against its own citizens and their values; and against their own citizens and their citizen-owned TV stations and networks and web sites for attention, for viewers, and for profits. (What kind of government does a thing like that?  You really should think about the answer.)

But hey: It’s a documentary!  So it’s important!  It makes you “think”… about sex and orgasms!  And in the way that they want you to!  And it’s the state-run media so it must be right!  It’s the CBC!

Here’s a blurb from “their” multi-gazillion-dollar web site about the latest sex series:

SEX, TRUTH AND VIDEOTAPE

Six-part series starting Wednesday August 15, 2007 at 10pm ET/PT on CBC Newsworld

SEX, TRUTH AND VIDEOTAPE is a bracing, new, six-part documentary series about women and sexuality from acclaimed journalist and filmmaker Francine Pelletier.

Everywhere you look, women are flaunting, claiming and exhibiting their sexuality. In books, in documentaries, in movies, on television and in the work place, women as sexual conquerors are no longer an anomaly but the norm. Billed as the “second sexual revolution,” women today are taking over when it comes to sex. It is the most visible change in women”s [sic] lives in the last 50 years. In fact, nothing has changed quite as much, or as quickly, as attitudes towards women and sex. But how does the cultural explosion of female sexuality translate in the lives of women? What does it mean and how far does it really go?

In each hour-long episode, six women tell it like it is, reflecting on various aspects of sex, love and lust. Their stories are riveting, funny and exuberant and, at times, heartbreaking. These personal histories are consistently remarkable – frank, explicit, startling and, above all, human.

The women in SEX, TRUTH AND VIDEOTAPE reflect a wide diversity of ages, sexual preferences and experiences, and social, economic and cultural backgrounds. Men and women alike will be amazed at how candid these women are in sharing their most personal stories – pivotal moments in their lives, and their most intimate needs and desires.

Sex And Celebrity (Aug 15 – 10 pm ET/PT)
Famous Canadian women, including Mary Walsh, Susan Swan, Measha Bruggergosman, Sandra Shamus and Margie Gillis, discuss what sex has been like for them.

Sex And Beauty (Aug 22 – 10 p.m. ET/PT)
Is sex in a beautiful body better?

Sex And Matches (Aug 29 – 10 pm ET/PT)
Does being single, or with a partner, change the nature of sex? A discussion of the joys and pitfalls of being part of, or not part of, a couple.

Sex And Age (Sept 5 – 10 pm ET/PT)
Does sex get better for women as they get older? Women from both sides of the sexual revolution tackle the nitty gritty.

Sex And Libertines (Sept 12 – 10 pm ET/PT)
These days, more than “just some” like it hot. From younger male partners to erotic massage, many women are exploring new sexual frontiers.

Sex: The First Time (Sept 19 – 10 pm ET/PT)
From great to ho-hum to tragic, women talk about their “first time.” And their first orgasm.

SEX, TRUTH AND VIDEOTAPE is written and directed by Francine Pelletier; produced by Mary Armstrong and Monique Simard for Virage Productions, in collaboration with CBC Newsworld and Canal Vie.

Here are some still-captures from their TV ad running today on the state new media channel, “Newsworld” (because it’s news, good ‘n corrected for YOU and your needs!).

Note on Mizzz Francine Pelletier:

Mizzz Francine Pelletier is a founder of the feminist journal La Vie en Rose.  She was Quebec City correspondent for Le Point, CBC’s French language network current affairs program, and a commentator for both CBC Newsworld and the PBS program, The Editors. In March 1995, she became a correspondent for CBC’s National Magazine then joined CBC’s flagship current affairs program the fifth estate, which she co-hosted for five years.

State-run CBC takes a position on dishwashing. GREEN. Well, and RED.

The state has informed us today through the liberals’ CBC division, that when washing dishes in your automatic dishwasher (for you liberals, the state-run CBC means this information to be directed to your immigrant cleaning lady), do not—I repeat—for the love of God’s green earth, err, humanist green earth, err whatevado NOT rinse the plates before you put them in.  That wastes water ‘n stuff!  (Plus the fish love steak, and they’re people too!)

CBC Newsworld.  It’s news.
image

We’re instructed on the technique and philosophy involved, thusly, by an Adria Vasil, described in their banner as “Environmental columnist, NOW magazine””…If your dishwasher can’t get a little dried ketchup off your plate: time for a new machine!”

Well crickies—now here they are suggesting we trash the old one fer a new-un Ernie!

“Environmental columnist, NOW magazine”
image

Oh yeah and Wikipedia describes NOW magazine like this:

History

NOW was first printed on September 10, 1981 by Michael Hollett and Alice Klein along with several other former members of the Socialist League (also known as the Forward Group) such as Wayne Roberts, the former editor of Forward. While vaguely left-wing, [citation needed] NOW was intended not as a socialist paper but as an alternative weekly mixing arts and entertainment news with political coverage. With rare exceptions, it endorses members of the New Democratic Party for federal, provincial and municipal office.

Huh.  Well that’s odd. CBC never told us that.  But communists, shmonunists. I still can’t believe they’re advocating using an automatic electric dishwasher materialist consumer product instead of hand washing in cold recycled toilet water.  What’s the 411 on this from their socialist Prophet David Suzuki (official genius and Stephane Dion’s brains), re this whole dishwashing caper?

EXTRA:
I noticed the dishwasher in the story is an old Kenmore American-style unit. Surely there’s units from Cuba?

It’s the CBC.
Vote liberal.

VIDEO: Fox News Channel: Calling ‘em like they see ‘em.

From the Fox News Channel, where they often go ahead and call them “homicide bombers” instead of “suicide bombers” in the interest of accuracy and honesty in reporting, and where they’re actually on America’s side, I caught this tiny bit of fun today on their scrolling news ticker:

Fox News—the number one cable news station in the U.S. (far surpassing CNN in viewership) and much of the world, is available in Canada now that it’s been unbanned by the liberals state-censor, the CRTC.  Call your satellite or cable provider.  Liberals are against that.  It’s that good.

UPDATE:
In juxtaposition, state-run CBC just now (Tues Aug 14 at 9:30 AM) grants a huge, extended interview with a representative protester on the national “Newsworld” channel lasting many minutes, during which they essentially gifted the environut with leading puffball questions from “news” anchor Nancy Wilson, then allowing him—nay, encouraging him—to lecture us on the matter of embracing and fully adopting the far-left-wing environmentalist industry’s agenda (today it’s about closing airports), for seemingly endless minutes.  No counter-argument presented.  Wouldn’t be part of liberal media’s “fair and balanced” agenda.

The Conservatives, why they’ze appointing dang conservatives! They’ze biased!

This is the funniest or most pathetic thing you’ll read all day, based on the fact that the guy is serious:

Tom Long to head search for CBC execs

By JIM BROWN

OTTAWA (CP) – The Conservative government is facing charges of political meddling in the selection process for a new president and chief of news operations at the CBC.

[...]

[Socialist MP from the you’ve got to be kidding party] Charlie Angus took Long’s involvement as a sign that Prime Minister Stephen Harper is trying to fill the ranks of upper management with people who will be favourable to his Conservative government.

“It is absolutely outrageous to think that the resumes of potential senior CBC news directors are being personally vetted by the likes of Mr. Long,” said the NDP cultural affairs critic.

It’s unfair!  Unfair I tells ya!  The CBC, why it’s ours!  It’s fer the “progressives”!  It’s ours!  We invented it!  Fer decades, it’s been a Canadian tradition to fill the ranks of this and every state-run socialist “corporation” with abject leftists and socialist hacks!  A tradition!  And we in the left, why we’re all about the tradition!  We’ve appointed liberals and sundry leftist moonbats to most every position in the entire federal and provincial and civic bureaucracy in the nation, in all of academia, in the entire legal justice system, we’ve ensured federal handouts to corporations and citizens galore, created thousands of socialist agencies and bureaus and departments and programs and policies, and we’ve basically stuffed this nation from top to bottom with liberals and various such leftists, fer years!  And you think you can march in here and get all “political” and stuff?  By gum that’s biased!

Alas, there’s no paucity of hypocritical, deceitful, abject socialists in this country, who think it (Canada) is theirs to mess with for their political ends.

In actual fact, as a matter of manifest fairness, and for the betterment of Canada, the Conservatives should (a) ban the CBC and all state-run or state-owned media in this nation and then enshrine that in the constitution, thus eliminating this current appointments problem altogether and allowing that socialist mentioned above to save himself from an aneurysm; and (b) ensure that every government position filled in this nation is a solidly CONSERVATIVE choice for the next ten to twenty years.  Then and only then will there will be some semblance of balance and sanity in our nation.

As we can see here though, liberals are against that.
