CBC and extreme pornography – good read at CRTC

Note: This is a bit of an update to my previous blog entry about this story, which I started HERE.

LIBERALS IN ACTION, “PROGRESSING” CANADA!

After bringing your attention to all the extreme pornography unwittingly made available at an NDP-affiliated Young NDP web site a couple days ago, I get to do it again.  This time it’s from the big state-regulator, the CRTC, and the extreme pornography wasn’t unwittingly presented—it was done on purpose—as I mentioned yesterday in a blog entry.

Now, here’s some of the words the CRTC had to write about none other than the state media—the state-run and state-owned and state-funded CBC—and a show they broadcast during prime time when children were watching TV the other day.  Try to keep in mind that they’re talking about the CBC:

Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2007-388

[...] The Commission has viewed the program and notes that scenes of nudity appear frequently throughout the half-hour broadcast: front and back views of nude women, explicit sexual relations, covers of pornographic magazines, scenes from the Internet of nudity and explicit sexuality (e.g., fellatio), and the actual filming of a pornographic movie (explicit sexual relations, scenes of female clitoral masturbation, cunnilingus, etc.). In these last scenes, although the vaginas and rectums of the actors are blacked out, the sexual activity is nonetheless explicit.[...]

In one of my more recent blog entries, I exposed the CBC’s show in which they displayed vaginas and penises—the penis bouncing about in extreme slo-mo to appeal to I’m-not-sure-whom!—at 7:00 PM Pacific daylight time.  I presented some screen-captures (duly blurring the sex organs for your viewing tolerance).  Even the host of the “documentary” injected herself into the story and stripped totally naked and filmed herself for you the taxpayer in a variation on tree-hugging (nude hugging with leg instead of arm) —at the 7:00 PM time slot.

In other blog entries (some linked from that recent post), they expose the CBC which chose to display at least one bare, shaved vagina (from the front and rear), and all other parts of course, in an “art” flick presented online.  Available to all. Plus several other flicks which contain full-frontal nudity, and a demonstration of a young man getting his balls waxed—all filmed by CBC folks, for you the taxpayer. Available to all. Anytime.

The current CRTC citation concerns the French-language version of the state-run media, and particularly its “Fric show”.  They conclude in their report:

The Commission expects the CBC to ensure that the scheduling of programs containing sexually explicit material or other mature subject matter intended for adult audiences is consistent with the broadcast industry standard requiring that such material be broadcast after 9 p.m. The Commission will review the CBC’s compliance with this obligation at the next licence renewal.

They’ve actually been warned before by the CRTC, for doing almost exactly the same thing.  Clearly, they have failed to comply.  They should lose their license.

State-owned and state-run media should be banned in this country, and that notion should be enshrined in our constitution.

State-run CBC cited by CRTC for showing primetime pornography – should lose license

I’ve long used this space to expose the various incidents of the state-run media —the CBC’s— obsession with sex and pornography and nudity, and have made many references to those incidents in my effort to wake Canadians up to the insanity of having a state run, state-owned and state-funded media in a modern free society.  It is also clear to me that they’re a far-left, biased outfit promoting a far-left agenda.

I have long maintained that the state-owned and state-run media should be banned in this country, and that notion enshrined in our constitution.

Now maybe they have decided to write their own obituary and save me the trouble of having to watch them for more examples.  (Why would it surprise anyone that they’d be in favor of suicide or euthanasia?)

French CBC Cited for Prime Time Porn, May Jeopardize License Renewal

Obscene material to the hours of 9PM to 6AM

By Peter J. Smith

OTTAWA, October 29, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Federal broadcasting regulators have blamed the state-funded Canadian Broadcasting Commission (CBC) for airing pornography during a prime-time program on its French television network.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) reprimanded the CBC on Tuesday for broadcasting on April 26 the French program “Fric Show” at 7:30 PM, despite the particular episode’s focus on pornography-related issues, at a time when children could be exposed to its content.

According to the Canadian Press, the CRTC found the episode’s scenes of “women nude in front and back” and “explicit sexual intercourse” justified the complaints of parents that the CBC had in fact aired pornography during prime-time and far before the “watershed hour” of 9PM, when government regulators agree to turn a blind eye toward programmed indecency.

The CBC had responded by saying they had issued warnings three times during “Fric Show’s” broadcast, but the CRTC insisted that the CBC action “does not excuse the damage that may be caused by the broadcast” and warned that the CBC must abide by regulations which restrict obscene material to the hours of 9PM to 6AM.

One viewer had demanded the CRTC investigate the program, asking for “a bit of respect for the children,” who usually are not asleep at that hour.

While the CRTC has not issued any sanctions upon the CBC, it has informed the public-broadcaster that it will bring up the matter at the moment the CBC applies to renew its broadcasting licence. However, the network’s tolerance for prime time porn may finally provide an impetus for the Conservative government to deprive the CBC of its government funding and force it to compete with other broadcasters for Canadians attention.

In the past, the CBC has offended Christian groups, especially Catholics, with shows like “The Altar Boy Gang” featuring a group of Montreal altar servers who use their role in the parish to cover up their involvement in the drug trade and abuse Holy Communion as snack food and poker chips (http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/may/07051601.html) or its 2000 production of “Our Daily Bread”, which depicted a woman feeding Holy Communion to a dog. However, it has shown deference to Islamic groups over programs such as “Little Mosque on the Prairie.”

Last year the CBC also re-ran a program segment covering a Toronto-based dating agency specializing in “hooking up” people who are already married or in “committed relationships,” for extra-marital sex on Valentine’s Day, originally a Christian feast day celebrating marital fidelity (http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/feb/06021708.html).

CBC “news” report: Hillary’s birthday!

Yes it was on CBC Newsworld, so you know it’s news!  Unfortunately, they apparently lost the footage from the President’s birthday, Rudy Giuliani’s birthday, Mitt Romney’s birthday, Duncan Hunter’s birthday, Mike Huckabee’s birthday, John McCain’s birthday, Fred Thompson’s birthday, and many more, including mine.

Liberals and their media work their butts off to get Canadians to stop recognizing the birth of Jesus Christ every December 25, but Hillary?  Pierre Trudeau?  This calls for a 6-part series on “The Passionate Eye” or the “Fifth Estate”!

It was teased well before the story on “Hillary” (you can call her “Hillary” when ya luvs ‘er, but calling Prime Minister Harper “Steve” should be seen as an insult) was actually reported.  See—here’s a screen-capture:

It’s coming up!
Don’t go to Fox News Channel!  Golly… it’s Hillary!  Smooch!

image

Over the CBC banner of “CELEBRATING HILLARY”, It was described as a “love in” by the “reporter”.  He added over the lovely, lengthy film footage that “Not everyone’s lucky enough to have Elvis Costello entertain at their birthday bash, and only one person’s blessed with Bill…”.  (See, Bill Clinton was there too —or “Bill”, if ya luvs ‘im— which means it was super fun, and super “smart”! And a blessing!  Oh the progressive yumminess!)

But let me go ahead and repeat that blessing for you:  “Not everyone’s lucky enough to be blessed with Bill.  Amen!

Let’s review; When “Bill” shows up at your birthday, it’s a blessing.  But it’s a “so-called” war on terror

“CELEBRATING HILLARY”!
I wonder if Liberal MP Mario Silva is jealous now that his proposed legislation to officially commemorate the birth of Pierre Trudeau with a Trudeau Day every year has been properly laughed into oblivion.

CBC anchor pushes guest for “man-made-global warming” answer on California fires

UPDATED

Fires are still burning in southern California but they’re getting under man-made control now, so it’s onto project “blame it all on man-made global warming!” at the state-run CBC.

First up:  “News” anchor Nancy (“very interesting!”) Wilson has a well-chosen guest—an environmentalist from California named Richard Halsey from the Chaparral Institute.

image

First question asked, but not getting the “man-made global warming” statement (“news”!) from her guest that I think she’s really looking for, she tries again for that “news” headline.

Nancy Wilson: …How much of that comes from [emphasis] HUMAN ACTIVITY?!

Guest:  [paraphrasing] … natural fire patterns…. yackity yack.

Wrong answer, huh, Mizz Wilson?  So… try again!  Push that agenda!

Nancy Wilson: …Yeah help me understand that a bit more—when you say fire patterns have changed, what does that mean, and when you talk about human activity being [emphasis] RESPONSIBLE, AGAIN WHAT ARE YOU GETTING AT?!

Guest:  [paraphrasing]  …power lines going down, campfires, blah blah, etc…

All wrong, I guess!  So try again!  This time she gets right to HER POINT, which is really the point of this “news”  interview anyway, as I saw it.

Nancy Wilson: You know, we hear some observers say that [emphasis] ACTUALLY, CLIMATE CHANGE is a factor in creating these more intense—uh well the dryer conditions leading to these more intense fires, what is your read on that theory?!

Guest:  [paraphrasing]:  …we don’t know that…

Clearly not interesting to Mizz Wilson, so… see ya!

Nancy Wilson: …Very interesting! … thanks so much…!

Bah bye!

Bring in the new batter!  Later, with the new “news” anchor Suhana Meharchand in place, they gave it another shot with another expert.  He also failed to blame it on “man-made global warming”—actually did so within the first two minutes or so.  But the CBC kept their big “FIRES AND CLIMATE CHANGE” scare banner in place anyway.  I think they do this to purposely mislead people.  To make that connection between the fires and “climate change” whether it exists or not.  Don’t forget: they had that banner in place before even hearing the answer from the expert, who as it turns out made no such direct connection—quite the opposite, in fact. Only the CBC made that connection.

A bit of deceptive subliminal seduction, methinks.
image

She introduces her guest, a NASA climatologist named Bill Patzert, with this preamble:  “…the heat and drought has fed the flames and it has some people asking if they are in any way linked with climate change…” [the only people asking that are the leftist “man-made global warming” freak-out artists, which of course includes the CBC].

He doesn’t immediately validate that theory in his first words, so, like Wilson before her in the previous shift, Meharchand presses him to get to that “right answer”:

Meharchand:  “…How much of it can you blame on climate change for certain?…”

Part of his precise answer: “…We can’t blame this on global warming…”

She drops the effort, but the scare banner remained in place right through to the end of the long piece.

CBC reports on disgrasceful anti-American movie: “Refreshingly un-rah-rah USA!”

UPDATED SATURDAY OCT 20:

Anti-American tripe being shown the world over at a time of war.  So of course the CBC is on it.  Enthusing over it.

Here’s our state-employee Jelena Adzic of the state-owned and run media denouncing America, as I clearly see it.  She gave the anti-American movie nearly full marks.

The state-run and state-owned CBC just promoted an anti-America disgrace—a film called “Rendition” which seems designed to foster anti-American sentiment throughout the world regarding its disposition of the war on terror.  This, during the war on terror, when America’s men and women are fighting abroad, are in constant danger, and sensible people agree every effort should be made to promote their safety and get behind the mission.  To do nothing that would foster anti-American sentiment amongst our enemies.  To in fact foster pro-American friendship and support.  To get on the side of the good guys.  Which, liberals, is our side.

Not for the CBC.  They’re a disgrace.  The state’s official movie reviewer, Jelena Adzic, on CBC “Newsworld” no less, reviews the movie with such fawning enthusiasm it actually made me laugh a little.  Then I realized it wasn’t actually funny.

She begins her glowing review with the words: “Corruption, lies, torture—it’s all in a day’s work for Jake Gyllenhaal as an agent for CIA Agent!”

Lovely.

Don’t worry—the movie reviewer doesn’t question that premise of the CIA being about nothing but “Corruption, lies, and torture”—she just reports it enthusiastically.

You might remember Jake Gyllenhaal as one of the cowboys in Brokeback Mountain. Here he is again.  Representin’.

She describes one of the stars, noted Hollywood liberal-leftist Meryl Streep, as someone whose performance is so great it “once again proves she eats Oscars for breakfast!”

You’ll remember Meryl Streep as the one who used the liberal-fest Golden Globes a few years ago as a platform to bash President Bush with these lunatic words in the middle of her thank you lecture:  “I just want to say that I don’t think the two biggest problems in America are that too many people want to commit their lives to one another until death do us part, and steroids in sports. I don’t think those are our two biggest problems.”

Then she tootled off with her shiny trinket.

“A sophisticated package of drama and social commentary!” Adzic breathlessly says of the Rendition movie, generally.

Then this bon mot: It’s “refreshingly un-rah-rah-USA! and most definitely entertaining!”

“Refreshingly un-rah-rah-USA”? Nice multicultural diversity-luvin’ statement, there, from our state-run, state-owned liberal-leftist media.  Nice display of tolerance of Americans and America.  Of course these are the folks who created “Little Mosque on the Prairie”.

In my personal opinion, I think that kind of statement is totally uncalled-for, misdirected, absolutely xenophobic, and completely revolting.  I think it betrays an arrogant, typically Canadian-liberal-leftist smug, anti-American sentiment the likes of which I’m officially bored of beyond repair.  I’m sick and tired of hearing that garbage from the liberal-leftists of this country.

Of course as I keep saying, liberals always say things as though everyone in the room agrees with them.  I think we in the sensible set might want to consider speaking up and putting them in their rightful or more accurately, their leftful place.

Just what the hell is wrong with the USA, and being all “rah-rah” about it?  It would in fact be refreshing to hear something “rah-rah” out of that abjectly liberal-left anti-American Hollywood for once.  As a proud Canadian I certainly am “rah-rah” about the United States.  I love that country.  I absolutely fully support America, Americans, and yes, the mission in Iraq and Afghanistan, and against terrorism and tyranny generally.

And so I will never, ever go to a trash movie like this, and I can’t believe our state-run media would promote as they did today.

What a load of liberalism.

UPDATE SATURDAY OCT 20:

Opening day a total flop

“New Line’s heavy-handed political thriller Rendition starring Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal flatlined into only 9th place, opening to $1.4 million from 2,362 runs. Its weekend take should be just $4.2 mil, showing again that message movies aren’t resonating with audiences this year.”

State-run CBC conducts poll; finds Afghans support conservatives’ stance on Afgahnistan mission

Here’s a quick primer on how the liberal media works:  You can be sure if this poll went how I suspect the co-sponsors of this poll, the liberals’ state-run CBC and the liberals’ Globe and Mail (and others) had hoped, they’d be all over this story today.  They’d be analyzing the results left, right, and center, up, down, sideways, with fancy charts, bold headlines, and providing bonus “expert opinion” from all manner of liberal-left and Marxist anti-war university professors as they almost always do with every story, and of course asking for input from the you’ve got to be kidding party’s Layton, and of course Liberal Frenchman Dion and Nation of Quebec leader Duceppe.  And in fact the results would come out on Monday or Tuesday for maximum media attention all week long, and would be brought up time and again forever more.

As it turned out, the poll went our way—not theirs.  Therefore the story is released on Friday, it’s placed halfway down the page if it’s mentioned at all, and it will fade quickly.

Fully 70 percent of Afghanistan citizens believe the foreign troops should remain there fighting Taliban/terrorist for at least 2 years or longer—well past the ridiculous arbitrary liberal-style self-imposed deadline of stupidity, February 2009.  Fully 43 percent—a plurality of respondents—think as sensible people here all think, that they should remain for “however long it takes”

image

The real story is the poll results, but by extension, it has important, serious ramifications for the political scene in Canada today.  And yet that angle is totally overlooked in all the media reports—perhaps because the results go against the liberal media’s world view and biased reporting as well.  The liberal-left and their media is proved wrong, on so many levels, if the poll is to be trusted, yet nothing about that is mentioned in the media. This is what passes as “journalism” in Canada today, and proves yet again why you can’t trust a media with an agenda.

Jack Layton and his you’ve got to be kidding party members and voters are totally off base—out of touch—with regard to how Afghanistan’s citizens think about our military mission in Afghanistan.  So is Liberal Frenchman Stephane Dion and all his Liberal Party supporters. And the liberal media and its editorialists generally.

In yet another survey of Afghan citizens, the results prove that they support the mission, even though Canadian liberals don’t.

EXTRA
Sure enough, even before finishing my blog entry, the state-run CBC Newsworld trots out, just now, a representative from the leftist Human Rights Watch to lecture us on how the poll is all wrong. If it went their way, would they trot out Ann Coulter?  I kinda doubt it.

Globe and Mail today: Story is small, and placed below the fold.  Globe and Mail was one of the main sponsors of the poll, along with the state-run CBC.

State-run CBC editorialist advances anti-American—and anti Bush—dogma

One of the CBC.ca editorial columnists, left-winger Heather Mallick (why in tarnation—in our nation—do we have a state-run media employing left-wing state opinionators?  Who knows!) says in her latest editorial column published at the state-run, state-owned people’s web site, the left-wing CBC.ca:
image

“If you think that the United States is an empire in decline, thanks in great part to Bush — an American who has done more to damage his own country than any American citizen in history — and if you admire the values of Canadians…”

This is part of her self-described “Churchillian” effort to stop what she warns is an “imperialist American” -run ploy.  Or as she says it: “the subterranean effort that has been quietly going on for years” to make Canada “the 51st state.”

She informs us that corporate Canada and “Prime Minister Stephen Harper love this so much”. I dare say I think our Prime Minister would be surprised to hear that he “loves this so much”, and surprised that the CBC columnists like Mallick now have a direct line to the inside of his brain.  That federal funding has finally paid off!

Apparently for Mallick and the left, the best, most intelligent way to build up Canada and Canadian patriotism is still to bash America and that evil George W. Bush.  How original for the liberal-left.  And what a great way to spend our tax dollars!  And good on the CBC for living up to its mandate which apparently includes bashing America and its president.

Anyway, I hope you like it, because you paid for it through your tax dollars. I guess they think we need to read this.  After all, they know what’s good for us.  They’re the CBC!  Owned by our government!

Reminder:  PTBC—this web site—which the CBC.ca web site competes against with its far-left columnists thanks to your tax dollars, doesn’t get any tax dollars.  So don’t hesitate to support us with your after-tax dollars if you have any left.  Thanks.

Another reminder:  State-owned or state-run media should clearly be banned in this country, and that notion enshrined in our constitution.  And the state shouldn’t employ political editorial columnists either.

FINALLY: Please read our Barbara Kay column today at PTBC (which won’t get nearly the attention because we don’t get in excess of one BILLION taxpayer dollars per year to promote this stuff)  in which she mentions the leftist Heather Mallick as well. Her column is called “From Chatelaine, a condescending rant by yesterday’s feminist”.  And it’s a good antidote.

State-run CBC takes full 4-page ad in National Post

What kind of government competes against its own citizens for profits in business?  And what kind of government competes—pleads—with its own citizens to not watch its private citizen-run networks and stations and web sites (like PTBC), and turn instead to the socialist, state-run media?  And not just for that ever-important national fun and frivolity and what they think is officially funny “comedy” shows and other such “entertainment” for the good of the nation, but also for their biased “news” and their political editorializing and political opinions, and their horrible documentaries—many or even most of which are tilted to the very far socialist left?  …All of which is already being done in the private sector, far better than the state-run CBC ever has or will do?

I can’t imagine how much it cost us as taxpayers for the state-run media, the CBC, to place a full four-page ad in one of the biggest and costliest newspapers in all the land, the National Post, today.  This spreads from page A10-13.

image

image

I also can’t imagine what kind of company would accept a competitor’s ad—and ad which claims that it, and not the host—the private-sector competitor—is “number 1” in all manner of things. The National Post is owned by , which owns and/or operates: Global TV network,  E! channel, TVTropolis, CoolTV, DejaView, Fox Sports World Canada, LONESTAR, Men TV, MysteryTV, X-TREME Sports, and many newspapers, in addition to an online site for news and information.

I’m pretty sure such an ad would help our web sites and our sales of our new PTBC Support our Troops and the Mission gear, and in so doing, provide a far, far greater service to our nation.
