Today in Liberals’ Daily Whine: Liberals Whine about Something Else; CBC all over it.

While the Prime Minister is away doing grownup things with actual world leaders, the Liberal leader is up in his tree fort yelling and screaming like a baby.  Therefore, the CBC and its intrepid journalists are up there in the tree, all over the story, covering in breathless detail what Ignatieff has to say.  They’re all wearing pantywaists. Yes, pantywaist is the word of the day.

Here’s just some of the various ways in which the CBC is toeing to the line today, and needlessly repeating the useless, pedantic and now seemingly daily talking points of the Liberals and their whiny leader, even while our Prime Minister is busy advancing our nation and its interests abroad with grownups (or at least with President Obama, Hugo Chavez, Muammar Gaddafi, and grownups) at a couple of the world’s most important summits and meetings.

image image
image image

The CBC is feigning confusion over “news”.  They’re so in love with liberals and the left and far left that they don’t even pretend to hide the fact that they’re presenting as “news”, nothing more than the base political meanderings of a petulant and self-aggrandizing child leader who is trying to advance himself and his political grasp for power.  To anyone with an ounce of objectivity, he’s clearly seeking attention by any means possible, while his political nemesis is away, doing actual work, advancing Canada in the big leagues.  Or worse (and this is my contention), they do know.

And those of us in the sane set know it’s laughable, even if it’s nervous laughter, because we also know it’s being done with the aid and comfort of the taxpayer-funded state-owned news media.  Or what I often call the liberals’ CBC division.  And therein lies the hypocrisy ingrained in this hideous bunk.  Here’s the Liberal leader whining that taxpayer cash is being spent ostensibly promoting Stephen Harper and the Conservatives, while the left-wing liberal-left-loving socialism-reliant CBC is advocating social and economic and political liberalism, doing the bidding for the liberal-left, and in this case the Liberal Party, all day long —at taxpayer expense

Ignatieff laughably complains that more is being spent by the government promoting the “stimulus” package, than on the swine flu.  He leaves out that still more —many times more—is being spent on the propaganda media —every week.  The CBC gets over a imageBILLION dollars per year from taxpayers, and much of it is devoted to advancing all liberal-left or “progressive” thought, and bashing any conservative thought or notion or idea or policy or politician. Which is why the CBC banner at left is utterly redundant.

The CBC pretends every time Liberal Leader (or any “progressive” leftist) opens his mouth, for any reason whatsoever, it’s “news”, and must be broadcast for the nation, unimpeded by any critical analysis.  In fact it should apparently be not merely “unimpeded”, but further explained, the message refined, and further promoted throughout the day.  You can’t BUY political advertising this good.  Even if they could afford it (which, not to be too circular, they don’t need to be able).

And need I state the obvious?  I don’t recall any Conservatives ever questioning the rampant partisan “government” advertising of the various Liberal and you’ve got to be kidding party governments when they constantly did just what the Liberals are accusing the Conservatives of doing now.  And even if they did, I’m pretty sure the media’s paid pundits would call Harper “petulant” for doing so. Nah!  Impossible!  Right Paul Wells and Don Martin and all the media which toed that line for months on end for what —wearing a sweater or something?

It’s not “news” just because a Liberal is childishly and petulantly bashing a conservative. If anything, the “news” here is that the Liberal leader is a petulant whiner who is again looking for attention not unlike a baby dressed in a pantwaist.  It would be news that the state-owned, left-wing CBC is again appeasing the political whims and advancing the talking points of their leader at taxpayer expense, but news has to be fresh, otherwise it’s history.

UPDATED: Prediction: no CBC counter view to leftists’ charges this morning

UPDATED:  See below

Right now I’m watching the second (at least —there may have been more but I’ve been working, unlike them) gratuitous presentation on the state-owned, socialism-reliant CBC news media, in which the Harper Conservative government is being criticized by leftists.  Just because.

image  image
Above left: Ignatieff whines that Conservatives are favoring Conservative ridings —pretty rich from a Liberal whose Liberal governments have done and continue to do that all day long, and they have done that for decades, and nobody in the media, including the CBC, cared.  On the right, the leftist prisoner-rights group John Howard Society and its groovy long-haired lawyer slam the Conservatives for getting tough on crime and building prisons for rapists and murderers.  Instead of tattoo parlors for them.

When the Conservative government announces anything or is featured in the news on any story, the CBC reflexively secures a leftist —or more likely, a whole series or panel of leftists —to bash everything the Conservative just said.

So let’s see if they do that now that leftists have said lefty things.  Let’s see if they trot out a series or panel of conservative folks to counter what the leftists just said and what the CBC ensured was reported live across the nation.

Prediction:  No.

Will the media on the scene ask tough questions?

Prediction:  No.

UPDATE:
After gratuitously showing us the well-rehearsed and staged and gratuitous Liberal Ignatieff whine-fest, they went to commercial instead of introducing a conservative counter argument or defence from any conservatives.  How odd.

imageUPDATE 2:
Nothing.  They are apparently only going to show you long drawn-out and gratuitous criticisms of the Conservative government from leftists.  So all is normal.

Oh and they are also taking an inordinate amount of official state news time touting the “accomplishments” of liberals, like this one in which they can’t stop telling you that their man President Obama is chairing the Security Council meeting at the U.N. (have you ever heard them tell you the name of the person chairing the meeting before?)  Here’s a fun fact:  Libya is a Security Council member.  That’s actually far more important thing to tell you, but they didn’t.  Latest “accomplishment”:  Obama, further weakening America, proudly signing onto yet another symbolic load of crap —another nuclear weapons agreement in which Obama promises to weaken America by unloading its nuclear arsenal at the request of Moamar Qadhafi.  Obama’s weakening of and apologizing for America is an “accomplishment” for liberals.  They will tell you that no counter argument to this U.N. idiocy is even needed, because they think this is all a self-justified “good”.  A self-evident “truth”.  A universal high-five.  No rebuttal required.  Liberals generally think that when they say things, everybody in the room agrees with them.

imageUPDATE 3:
Rather than offering up a counter argument or defence from conservatives, the CBC appears to be advancing the Liberals’ latest PR blitz; carrying the Liberal Party water for them.  Building on the Liberal Party’s totally political talking points from this morning, the CBC is simply re-reporting their story, making it bigger than it is, but now with a CBC reporter re-explaining the “facts” behind the Ignatieff claims and she seems to actually be trying to help advance the veracity, if any, of the Liberal Party’s claims.  The reporter Margot McDiarmid admitted that very nearby in the same town, a Conservative Minister, John Baird, is in fact countering the arguments leveled this morning, in a public news conference.  Yet the CBC isn’t there reporting it live, as they did the Ignatieff whine this morning.  So that’s an odd way of reporting news.  I mean they were right there.  Weird.

So of course in order to prevent myself from getting dumber, which is what happens when you watch the CBC, I’m switching to Fox News Channel to get the whole story behind all the actual news today.

UPDATE 4:
A reader email suggests I review the CBC tape from while I was gone getting actual news at Fox News Channel.

Later in the afternoon, the CBC actually interviewed the Conservative government’s Minister of Public Safety, Peter Van Loan.  The CBC anchor Nil Köksal proceeds to take a adversarial approach to the discussion, debating him more than simply allowing him to speak unimpeded, ad nauseum, as they most certainly allowed the left-wing prisoner apologists just earlier, during the free propaganda platform they provided to the left-wingers on the publicly-funded airwaves of CBC.

Köksal badgered him about his reforms being “U.S. style”, again referring to talking points obviously supplied to her from left-wing blogs or the left-wingers’ report that they broadcast earlier.  Van Loan took exception to her analogy of it being “U.S.-style”, and answered that what they’re proposing has nothing to do with it being a “U.S.-style” system (it should be noted that liberals commonly see “U.S.-style” anything as inherently evil, though less so under Obama than Bush…).  He says he doesn’t know where this reference or idea that it’s a “U.S.-style system” came from.  (Gee, I wonder:  the left-wing advocacy group leader said it, lefty bloggers blogged it, the CBC repeats as Gospel.  Hope that helps.)

After Köksal sets it up loosely quoting some un-named Americans who say Canada shouldn’t copy their system because it’s so nasty, the Minister Van Loan says this:

“Well that’s not the system we’re proposing at all.  We aren’t proposing an American-style system, and I don’t know where that suggestion comes from…”

Then, after the Van Loan interview, in which Van Loan said it’s not about “U.S.-style prisons” at all, as the left-wingers and the CBC falsely and tendentiously and ideologically misinformed you that it was, the CBC later presented this banner in a tease about their upcoming top stories:

image

And so the CBC’s “fair and balanced” and “objective”  and “take-no sides” news geniuses have decided to cling to their preferred version:  the left-wing advocacy groups’ talking points;  utterly rejecting what the Minister of Public Safety just got through contending and claiming as the actual facts.  They are once again driving an agenda being advanced by left-wingers and their political advocates.  They are therefore misinforming you.  On your dime.

CBC tries “CONSERVATIVE CRACKDOWN”; but then settles on “WHITE COLLAR CRACKDOWN”

Crackdown on them all, if I understand correctly.
The far-left has so overused the past-its-best-before-date cliché in which they purposely knowingly wrongly conflate “Conservatives” (small-c or big-c) with “white collar”.  But here’s a glimpse of the state-owned, socialism-reliant, systemically, inherently anti-conservative, anti-capitalist CBC in action.  “Conservatives” and “white collar” and — and crime — are all much the same thing to the CBC, and all must be quashed.

image image

imageDON’T GET DUPED …BY THE CBC?
Later on the state-owned, socialism-reliant CBC’s oxymoronic “YOUR BUSINESS” segment, in which they suddenly pretend that capitalism matters and presume to explain it to Canadians who are watching a socialism-reliant and state-owned news channel, the business reporter, with help from CBC chyron-typers, teaches Canadian stupids how to not get duped …in the capitalist world.  But not in the socialist world, by left-wing, state-owned, socialism-reliant news media.  But that’s why I’m here.  So that’s fun (if a little unbalanced in terms of funding).

And later….

imageI’M NOT ALLEGING ANY CBC FRAUD
They are alleging fraud themselves.  I’m delighted.  I mean if I understand this correctly. Golly I’m so sorry if I misread all that.

UPDATE:
Looks like they’re back to using “CONSERVATIVE CRACKDOWN” and are simply interchanging that chyron, sporadically, with “WHITE COLLAR CRACKDOWN” all day long, just to help firm that up in people’s minds.

Vote liberal.

CBC covers—sorry BURIES—historic protest under headline: “Obama vows health plan will work”

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a massive protest in my life, with the possible exceptions of when Ronald Regan said “tear down this wall” and, duly encouraged, the people rose up and Ronald Reagan won the cold war; and the solidarity uprising in Poland, and one or two others.

Anytime people march in such vast numbers—anywhere in the world —it’s a major story.  It doesn’t matter where it occurred.  So when the media doesn’t cover it (as I demonstrated many weren’t, yesterday), they’re covering up something.  When they bury the story, they’re similarly covering up something.  When they misstate facts and clearly understate the numbers of protesters or marchers against the government, they’re misleading you.  Any way you slice it, it’s corrupt. And you should protest it.

Following up on my blogging yesterday about deceptive reporting in the liberal mainstream media, in which they alternately reported that “thousands” attended an “angry” protest, some media like the Daily Mail in the U.K. actually found the crowd numbering upwards of two million.  It’s could have been a reasonable guess just based on looking at the overhead photos, one of which I showed you yesterday.  I personally suspect the Daily Mail overstated it just based on the calculus used to figure the size of the crowd on Obama’s inauguration, which was similar in size.

image

But to say in your news report, which several news outlets did, that the numbers were in the “thousands”, is just a plain lie.  You have to be stridently trying to lie to your readers and viewers to tell them that the crown was in “the thousands”.  Even if you said “tens of thousands”, you imagehave to be kidding yourself, and/or your readers and viewers.  Say “400,000” when it’s clearly more, and still you’re playing cute with facts.  “Thousands”?  Who are you trying to kid/mislead?

The picture I showed you yesterday was NBC News’ own picture, and even while they showed that picture in a split screen with their reporter in the “angry” “mob” of “neocons” crowd in which they were all smiling and cheering and having fun with their kids and grandma in toe, the reporter was trying to get away with saying the crowd numbered in “the thousands”.  The anchor herself disputed that since she knew all the viewers were looking right at the other side of the screen in which it was pretty obvious there was more like a MILLION people there.  The reporter allowed that “some say there may be tens of thousands”.  He accidentally underestimated the size of the crowd by upwards of ten or twenty thousand percent.  That’s 20,000%.  I was actually embarrassed for the media at that moment (then it went away).

Hilariously, in another NBC News report yesterday, the anchor introduced the story by saying that “tens of thousands” were there, but then their own reporters on the scene reported that their own estimates, there were clearly “hundreds of thousands”.  And that was on the NBC division of the Obamamedia.  So you can imagine the truth to be that there were actually a good MILLION people there.  Watch that clip right here

imageCBC reported that “tens of thousands” attended the massive protest, and they totally buried their so-called “coverage” of the news event under the hilarious headline “Obama vows health plan will work”.  Their idiotic new story includes a photo of the crowd with the caption Thousands mass in Washington on Saturday during a taxpayer rally against the Obama administration’s plan to reform heath care.”

I have a dozens more examples.  How many do you need?

This reaction from our “beloved’ MSM is par for the course and is precisely why they are being ignored more and more.  I can’t believe they still can’t figure out why more and more people are flocking to Fox and various blogs for their news it’s because of this immensely biased behavior.  They claimed last year ‘Hope and Change’ meant that politics and it’s associated rhetoric would not happen anymore as this needed to occur.  Hmmm, wonder how that’s going.  They should just keep on doing this as it only render’s them more and more useless with each passing day.  And when they are gone I won’t shed a tear.

Joel….

Montreal Gazette buried the Washington demonstration story within a story about Obama’s rally in Minneapolis.

They talked about his 15,000 roaring and cheering fans, and then ,very briefly, mentioned the demo in Washington.

They didn’t give any crowd estimate at all, simply refering to “demonstrators crammed onto the west lawn of the capitol..”

That was it………all of one sentence..!!!!

I didn’t check the French papers as they were too busy covering the 250th anniversary of the battle of the Plains of Abraham.

CBC’s 9/11 article: CBC’s reader comments—full of idiocy and “truthers”. EXACTLY as I predicted.

I knew the first thing I was going to do today was to pay tribute to all the innocent lost lives when America and the West was attacked by savage Islamofascist terrorists on September 11 2001, in which they declared war on America and the West, and forced our hand.  And to the first responders; and to the soldiers who have died and have been injured or maimed and are fighting for us still, and to those who will fight even knowing the grave danger that lies ahead.

Having done that, I worked my way over to the web site of hate, the state-owned CBC.  It’s important to point this thing out, because it’s so entirely disgraceful, which I mean in the full context of that word. It’s not just the bias and agenda-ridden “reporting” and articles and left-wing fringe columnists.  With its phalanx of idiot reader/commenters —whom have been bred and nurtured and led by the CBC over their years by seemingly purposefully normalizing their far-left fringe world view — I long ago concluded that it is one of the most hateful, intolerant, divisive web sites in all of North America.  The CBC didn’t let me down today, which I mean in the ironic sense.

I got EXACTLY what I expected.

Many of the comments are not unlike the “THIS IS WHAT YOU DESERVE” comments (actual comments) approved by the CBC moderators following the death of a Canadian soldier in Afghanistan.  But there are countless dozens of truthers who alternately blame George Bush, “neocons” (they have utterly no clue what “neocons” are), Republicans, conservatives, Stephen Harper or the likes of him (?), and most everybody except the terrorists, for 9/11.  All approved by the CBC “moderators”, who are clearly not “moderate” at all but radical nutbars who serve only to advance their bizarre left-wing, progressive liberal world view on Canadians, at taxpayer expense.

But in my list of reading this morning I luckily included Charles Krauthammer’s usual brilliance, and while it’s only half about 9/11 (the other half is about Van Jones and how his 9/11 truther idiocy is germane to the solemnity of today), it includes this thought:

Spoiler alert:  This snippet includes the concluding paragraph of Charles Krauthammer’s latest column.  As always, read the whole thing  —and do that every time Krauthammer writes anything for that matter.

Charles Krauthammer

…In the White House no more. Why? He’s gone for one reason and one reason only. You can’t sign a petition demanding not one but four investigations of the charge that the Bush administration deliberately allowed 9/11—i.e., collaborated in the worst massacre ever perpetrated on American soil—and be permitted in polite society, let alone have a high-level job in the White House.

Unlike the other stuff (see above), this is no trivial matter. It’s beyond radicalism, beyond partisanship. It takes us into the realm of political psychosis, a malignant paranoia that, unlike the Marxist posturing, is not amusing. It’s dangerous. In America, movements and parties are required to police their extremes. Bill Buckley did that with Birchers. Liberals need to do that with “truthers.”

You can no more have a truther in the White House than you can have a Holocaust denier—a person who creates a hallucinatory alternative reality in the service of a fathomless malice.

[...]

But on the eighth anniversary of 9/11—a day when there were no truthers among us, just Americans struck dumb by the savagery of what had been perpetrated on their innocent fellow citizens—a decent respect for the memory of that day requires that truthers, who derangedly desecrate it, be asked politely to leave. By everyone.

But the state-owned CBC doesn’t want truthers to leave.  They provide them with a grand taxpayer-paid platform today, of all days.  The CBC doesn’t care about anything but helping the many nutbars among their readers to promote their hateful, divisive, derisive, intolerant, and often clearly insane ideas and agendas.

The comments which they’ve welcomed at their article at CBC.ca are absolutely chock-a-block full of the expressed thoughts and ideas of radical idiots uniformly clinging to the “truthers” cult.  And CBC approved them all.  There’s hundreds of them. Each as stupid as the other.  A few temperate folks have tried to change the subject back to what it should be, to no avail.  The CBC just keep letting them in.  Practically ruining the day, the moment, the memory, with their idiot politics.  The CBC has bred these people, provided them with a platform —every day, not just today but especially today and they now — today — welcome their hurtful, idiotic, divisive comments, on the state-owned web site.

It’s a disgrace.

UPDATE (10:16 AM PT):
It seems the CBC has now entirely removed all the comments on their 9/11 article from their web site, as though they never really happened.  Luckily, as usual, I’ve learned to save at least one of the pages just in case this happened, and so I have examples of some of the detestable comments.

UPDATE 2 (11:41 AM PT):
It seems I may have been overly optimistic about the ugly CBC removing their despicable reader comments from that article.  It seems there are now no reader comments anywhere at the site, clearly owing to some sort of general technical glitch, rather than an editorial decision based on humanity and common decency and sobriety, as I’d hoped.

NEVER MIND!
Comments are back on again at CBC.  In their full hateful, despicable ignominy.

CBC presents left-wing peacenik to answer gratuitous question re Afghanistan: “IS MISSION WORTH IT?”

“GHOSTS OF ‘HIDDEN AGENDA’—PART VI”  See it at the Toronto Film Festival! (Slotted right after “Capitalism Is A Good Thing” and before “Freedom Isn’t Free”)

After so many of our countrymen have died for our country and are at this very moment engaged in a war in Afghanistan, the take-no-particular-side CBC gratuitously re-asks whether the mission is even worth it.  They do this knowing it yet again re-casts doubt in the hearts and minds of Canadians —including those who are in Afghanistan fighting and trying to maintain their courage and spirit in an extremely tough situation.  They obviously don’t care about them.

image

That’s fantastic. The CBC is worth every penny.  And by the way it’s not even worth ever asking THAT question (IS THE CBC WORTH IT?).  The science is settled on that one.  The debate:  over.  Vote liberal.  Peace.  Now back to our agenda.

Of course they rerun this insufferable flick using the left-wing peacenik Steven Staples, whom they constantly use on this question because they already know very well that his answer always has been and always will be “no”.  But when they roll the credits on Steven Staples, in true Michael Moore documentary style, they also once again refuse to come clean with you the Canadian taxpayer who is paying for this documentary, that Steven Staples is a left-wing peacenik who, according to he himself, got the inspiration for his peacenik web site from MoveOn.org, the extreme far-left web site and extreme left-wing “community organizer” group.

True to the now idyllic-to-the-CBC Michael Moore documentary style, they introduce him only as “Steven Staples”, of the organization The Rideau Institute.

Personally, I’m on Canada’s side.

NICE TRY: CBC anchor doesn’t allude to fact that more Canadians go bankrupt than Americans

“GHOSTS OF ‘HIDDEN AGENDA’—PART V”  See it at the Toronto Film Festival! (Like you’ll see me at the Toronto Film Festival!)

imageCBC reviews the EXACT Obama talking points one more time before they review it again and then again:
In my movie, the CBC anchor (and expert in bankruptcy statistics) Suhana Meharchand would add the fact that in Canada, per capita, there are actually MORE bankruptcies, despite what I would have her decribe, in my talking points, as our glorious socialist North Korean-style “health care” (—insert visible wink!) system.  For that matter, I might add calling it a “so-called” health care system, the way the CBC calls the war on terror the “so-called” war on terror.  Just for “continuity” and of course for “artistic” purposes.

CBC News anchor Suhana Meharchand to viewers:  “Barack Obama says … he wants to be the last administration that has to struggle with making sure Americans do not have to go BANKRUPT [huge emphasis on that word] when they fall ill.”

At above left:  I screen-captured the EXACT MOMENT she said the word “BANKRUPT” extremely loudly and firmly.  It’s a film festival souvenir!

If you’re tired of Michael Moore-style documentaries and need a break from the CBC, read my blog entry “US medical bankruptcies a myth; personal bankruptcy rate higher in Canada”.

It’s artistic!

CBC deems it perfectly appropriate to show videos of closed-to-media events, if it’s Conservative

“GHOSTS OF ‘HIDDEN AGENDA’—PART IV”  See it at the Toronto Film Festival!  (“If pigs can fly!” —to quote “that brainiac” Michael Ignatieff from today’s whiny news conference.)

Let’s watch for those surreptitious cell-phone recordings of the many closed-door Liberal or you’ve got to be kidding party speeches to party faithful (in which they speak of what the CBC calls “the M-word”—Majority!—when it’s a Conservative saying it) being broadcast on the national state-owned media, even though the Liberal or you’ve got to be kidding party event wasn’t open to media, mmmbut it doesn’t matter because “it was taped anyway”, and the CBC has the tape — directly from the Conservative Party — and so well by golly we’re going to show it on the media to the country “anyway”, now, in the hope that it damages the left and encourages people to vote Conservative!

CBC reporter Margo McDiarmid: ”…The Prime Minister was in Sault Ste. Marie last week talking to some party supporters, and somebody there taped his speech.  It wasn’t opened to the media but they taped the speech anyway.  Um and in his address to party supporters, he uses that word ‘majority’!…”.

Well slap me silly.  You mean the CPC is the only party that actually would prefer a majority.  Well tarnations I guess I’ve always thought the wrong way.  I presume all those Liberal majorities during the dark 90’s was a horrible and undemocratic thing as well.  Errrr, oh, I forgot, it was a Liberal Majority so it was ok.

What a bunch of rubes at the CBC and their moronic followers.

If there ever was a party that prayed for a minority situation I’d stop supporting them immediately.

Sheesh…

CBC excitedly reports: “CAUGHT ON TAPE!!!” …Then shows video of Harper saying he wants a majority

“GHOSTS OF ‘HIDDEN AGENDA’—PART I”  See it at the Toronto Film Festival!  (As if!)

imageOnly an anti-conservative news organization would find a Conservative Prime Minister (CAUGHT ON TAPE!) speaking to party faithful saying he wants a majority…. to be controversial. Or “interesting”.  Or even really interesting.

“Margo McDiarmid has the video which you won’t see anywhere else!” the CBC’s news anchor Nancy (“very interesting!”) Wilson breathlessly reports, just now.

Except “the video” in question is all over YouTube, one of the world’s most popular websites.  See it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COsA_m-c0XY
and here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWIzC0zEeAQ

…rendering what she just said as total bunk, equaling only a Michael Moore “documentary”.

In fact see that CAUGHT ON TAPE! video here.  In the spirit of the liberal-left’s Toronto Film Festival liberal-left-fest, which starts today (and CBC can’t stop talking about it of course, because (a) it’s in Toronto; (b) it promulgates lots of liberal-left political/social propaganda; and (c) it involves “artists”), I made it really tiny.  That’s my artistic/political/left-wing-style expression of how little I care about it.  Furthermore, it’s my morose expression of foreboding and of political “art” in the age of Obama.  You will see that I have tried to make the PLAY button bigger than the actual video, as my way of expressing that the BS news story and CBC/Liberal Party joint effort at drumming up phony controversy by the liberal-left anti-Conservative news media is actually bigger than the story itself, which is tiny and utterly insignificant. Can you tell I’m bored?  Because that’s also what I’m trying to convey through my art.):

It kills me that in actual fact, it’s a good speech.  Harper warns against voting for the Liberal/socialist coalition, and giving the Conservatives a majority.  Which is a great idea for Canada.  Liberals —and only Liberals —would see this as some sort of nefarious CAUGHT ON TAPE! video worth showing to Canadians on the news, and casting it as nefarious in any which way.  Swish that around in your noggin for a bit.

image

“What’s interesting about this speech is that he’s speaking with a candor that you rarely hear from him!…” the reporter informs us (note that she informs us how to think).

Then she tries to bolster the other “interesting” excitement: McDiarmid sheepishly explains that the oh-so-special secret video was released to CBC via some unknown student who released it to the Liberal Party who released it to the CBC.  I presume this happened in the dark of night!  Possibly in brown paper bags!

Actually, that bit is a tiny bit interesting.  Forget the left-wing coalition being simply the Liberal Party and the further left parties, it apparently includes the CBC as well.

Anyway, further along in their two-hour epic news story, she tries to explain why this was done, which, if you have to do that, proves it obviously isn’t very good.

“And the reason they did that was they say this tape shows that the prime minister actually doesn’t WANT to work with the other parties, and they say it justifies in their mind Michael Ignatieff saying he would no longer prop up the Conservative government.”

They (the liberals) think that’s a bad thing.  Not wanting to work with the Liberals and the other socialists is a bad thing.  That in itself makes this little news story effort a romance comedy with a socialist twist.

But then Margo McDiarmid attempts to explain why it’s REALLY important (because that last effort proves it obviously didn’t hold any water whatsoever, in all honesty…

“But what it really shows the rest of us is the kind of HEATED, INTENSE politics that certainly will follow any talk of a federal election this fall…”

…And that holds a whole ton of water, as a news story.

The CBC has been CAUGHT ON TAPE! being complete idiots, and reaching incongruous, innocuous conclusions, even while helping the Liberal Party and its coalition of socialists try to spark up an false controversy.

UPDATE:
Liberal Party boss Ignatieff just said that his party delivered the secretly taped video to the CBC (to the exclusion of all other channels).

CBC trots out the leftists to pre-defend Obama prior to his 80th “health care” (wink!) pitch tonight

UPDATED AT LEAST TWICE—SEE BELOW

In advance of Obama’s “health care” speech tonight, which, being a Canadian event, will of course be broadcast live for Canadians by the state-owned, socialism-reliant Canadian-content provider CBC, the socialism-reliant CBC has begun to mold Canadian minds the way they’d like to by trotting out what their expert news and information division has scientifically and journalistically decided are The Real Experts.  The real fair and balanced and objective observers.  In other words, the far-leftists and leftists and Obama suck-ups and supporters, countered by some other left-wingers.  For balance.  To really inform Canadians.  On your dime as taxpayers.

The socialism-reliant CBC has, so far, presented only left-wing and far-left apologists for socialism, in order to explain to Canadians what it is that is going on down south, which is a debate about socialism or not socialism.  That’s odd, huh? I wonder why that would be.

The CBC thus far: Two health care experts who supplemented their own CBC talking points from the left:

imageThe morning started out with the usual objective coverage from the CBC’s own fair and balanced gurus, anchor Nancy (“very interesting!”) Wilson, who you can see here (at far-left) pitching her upcoming interview with Democratic Party crazyman Dennis Kucinich, who, it turns out in the interview, shockingly demands an all-socialist government-run “health care”, um, “option” (—wink!).

And the just the facts, ma’am CBC reporter Susan Bonner is repeatedly asked about it all by the anchors.  She helpfully reminds Canadians of the “fact” that “46 million are uninsured” (which she must surely know is at best an intellectually dishonest number if left stated on its own, and a number which is drawn straight from left-wing talking points).  She informs Canadians that…

“…we saw a lot of angry town hall meetings and hysterical comments about what any kind of a public health care option would mean for America…”

Following that, we get anchor Suhana Meharchand, who teased an upcoming interview with the editor of a notably left-wing (my words, and most definitely and noticeably to me, not hers!) publication called the New Republic, who also happened to be the author of a book demanding a socialist healthcare system, gee golly whadoyaknow heck my goodness me wow what a coinkidink.  He proceeded to talk all politics, and to campaign for Obama and a wonderful socialist all-government-run “health care” (—wink!) system.

So far we haven’t heard from any conservatives, nor any questions from a conservative standpoint, nor any talking points — sorry “facts” — from the right or the far-right, from either Nancy Wilson, or Suhana Meharchand, or Susan Bonner.  Nobody has asked about tort reform and interstate insurance availability and other such relatively easy solutions that could help insure the uninsured, nor have Canadians been reminded that the government can’t even run social security or a crappy government-run TV news and entertainment outfit, much less another mammoth government “health care” behemoth which would consume 1/6 of the American economy.  Nor have they reminded Canadians that US medical bankruptcies are a myth; personal bankruptcy rate is higher in Canada.  For example.  I’ve got more.

Why do you suppose that would be?  Isn’t the CBC trying to tell the whole story?  They are paid by taxpayers to do that, right?  So what’s up?  How come they aren’t presenting any conservative, freedom and free-market types for Canadians?  Can’t they find any?  They should be able to since most Americans are against Obamacare, which I know from the polls which the CBC never show you.  Do you think we will hear from them?  And in the off chance that they do manage to find one anti-Obamacare person anywhere in the United States, how do you think that interview will go?

AN ALMOST STUPEFYING UPDATE:

image

Next up for the CBC:  Objective expert Senator Bernie Sanders, whom Wikipedia describes like this:

Sanders is a self-described democratic socialist, but because he does not belong to a formal political party, he appears as an independent on the ballot. He is the first person elected to the U.S. Senate to identify as a socialist.[1]  Sanders caucuses with the Democratic Party and is counted as a Democrat for the purposes of committee assignments.

The CBC’s Suhana Meharchand therefore introduced him merely as “an independent senator from Vermont”.  And she blatantly coddled him in what I guess she’d defend as her hard-hitting interview, in which she reminded him that 47 million are uninsured, and other hardball facts.

Imagine the shock I had to endure when the socialist defended in the strongest possible terms the notion of a socialist “health care” —and everything else in America— plan.

Yup —Canadians are getting fully “informed”  (—wink!) by the CBC today.  Good job, CBC.  Worth every taxpayer penny.  Especially mine.

UPDATE 2:
NEXT LEFTIST EXPERT ON CBC to “INFORM” CANADIANS (wink, middle finger…):  a Democrat!  Who they also already know also supports socialist healthcare just exactly like all the others and themselves!

WIKIPEDIA:

He was an unsuccessful Democratic candidate against Connie Morella for Maryland’s 8th district in the House of Representatives in 1998.

And therefore the CBC introduced him simply and only as “the CEO of the National Coalition on Health Care”.

And upon much hard-hitting get at the truth goading by the anchor Susan Ormiston, he said he supports the “public option”!

I. Am. Shocked.
